Neil Cuthbert is a longtime member of EST. His plays produced by the company include The Soft Touch, The Perfect Stranger, First Thirty, and Strange Behavior. He has written screenplays for most of the major studios--his credits include Hocus Pocus and Mystery Men. For television he has written pilots and episodes for CBS, Showtime, and NBC. He has also served as EST's literary manager and run their weekly Playwrights Unit (on both coasts). He received an MFA in Playwriting from the Mason Gross School of the Arts and is a member of the DGA, the WGAE, and PEN USA. He recently moved back to the east coast with his wife, painter and EST member Wende Dasteel. His new plays include Preston, White People, The Boss, and Bar Play Night.
