Akyiaa Wilson –A native of Brooklyn NY, Akyiaa has participated in the development of many new works in New York’s thriving off and off-off Broadway scene at places such as Ensemble Studio Theatre, Ars Nova, The Lark, Clubbed Thumb and Primary Stages. Among her recent workshops are Gina Femia's Meet You at the Galaxy Diner (Vox Lab, Dartmouth) and Tanya's Lit Clit, an Experimental B#!ch production. She was last seen in the recently published Collective Noun as part of the Corkscrew Festival. Other favorites include Mike Iveson Jr’s experimental The Tear Drinkers at the Kitchen, Charly Simpson’s Hottentotted at the Tank, Helen Banner's choral play Icons/Idols, at the New Ohio and a turn as Olga in immersive interpretation of Chekov’s Three Sisters. Being a fortunate member of the Brooklyn company of the RSC’s Julius Caesar at BAM, was an unforgettable experience. A former Bat at The Flea Theater, she appeared in the world premiere of the controversial Girls In Trouble, and as Clytemnestra in the New York premiere of the epic These Seven Sicknesses as well many weeks of #Serials@the Flea. A member artist at the Ensemble Studio Theater, she holds a B.F.A. from Syracuse University.
