Attendees at last night’s EST/Sloan First Light Festival reading of WORLD AVOIDED by Andrea Lepcio enjoyed a special treat. Not only was one of the main characters in the play, Stephen O. Andersen, one of the leading figures in the success of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Stratospheric Ozone Layer, in attendance and enthusiastic about the play, but his part was read by longtime EST/Sloan science advisor Stuart Firestein. Read more about WORLD AVOIDED in our interview with the playwright.

The First Light Festival continues with readings and workshops of new plays in development as part of the Est/Sloan Program through March 30.
