Est’s biennial
MArathon of One-Act Plays

Since it began in 1977, EST’s Marathon of One-Act Plays has presented fully produced plays by established and emerging writers alongside each other on our stage. A long-time favorite of critics and audiences, each Marathon is presented as a festival of multiple series of short plays, performing in rotation. The most recent 38th Marathon of One-Act Plays celebrated the work of our community’s Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) artists. Two EST Member Artists, director Colette Robert and playwright Mike Lew, served as Co-Artistic Directors, curating a lineup of new short plays written by BIPOC playwrights.
