Ann Talman -- B.A. Theatre and Film, Pennsylvania State University. Screenplay Development Workshops at UCLA and A Voice Of One’s Own creative writing, at The New School. Member of Ensemble Studio Theater in New York since 1980. Founding member of The New Group Theater and Naked Angels. In Los Angeles, a member of The Writer’s Bloc founded by playwright Jeffery Sweet and run in LA by screenwriter Jane Anderson and writer Susan Merson. Co-founded Ensemble Studio Theater/The LA Project Playwrights Unit with Jose Rivera and Laura Salvato. Also a Founder of that theatre. Her solo show, Woody’s Order! premiered February, 2017 in Pittsburgh at The Rep at Pittsburgh Playhouse directed by John Shepard. This production will open at EST/LA on March 25, 2017. Her short doc Woody’s Order! will have a world premier at The Tribeca Film Festival April, 2017. Her one-act play, Grandma’s Rolls, presented as a staged reading by Ensemble Studio Theater/The LA Project. Invited into the Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Playwright Unit 2014. Inducted to The Inaugural Hall of Fame at Upper St. Clair High School of Pittsburgh in the arts category, “in recognition of her efforts in bringing honor and prestige to the proud tradition of Upper St. Clair.” In 2003 received The Kert Lundel Fifth Business Award for outstanding administrative work for The Ensemble Studio Theatre.
