Davis Alianiello is a playwright, director, dramaturg, and teacher, originally from Providence, Rhode Island. He writes grotesque tragicomedies that explore crises of belief and belonging. His play Snake placed second for the Kennedy Center’s Paula Vogel Award in Playwriting. He has developed new work with the Seven Devils Playwrights Conference, the Wilbury Theatre Group, Playhouse on Park, SoHo Playhouse, the Boston Center for the Arts, Stroller Scene, and Stone Oven House in Rorá, Italy, where he was a writer-in-residence. He has been a finalist for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Pegasus PlayLab, and the Clauder Competition, and a semifinalist for Words Cubed at Utah Shakespeare Festival and the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference. He’s a proud member of EST/Youngblood, and his plays are published by Playscripts, Inc. and 1319 Press. His one-acts for schools have been performed across the U.S., as well as in Australia, Canada, China, Ireland, Japan, Jordan and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He lives in Brooklyn.
