Amy Staats is an actor, writer, and filmmaker. Recent acting credits include The Jazzercise Play or The Last Class  (created by Megan Hill for the Claque's Spotlight Series, directed by Margot Bordelon),  Target Margin’s A Nice Story (created and directed by Megan Hill for Stein Lab), the role of Janice in Tom Matthew Wolfe’s Janice Underwater at Premiere Stages (directed by Jade King Carroll),  and Lesser America’s production of Trevor by Nick Jones (directed by Moritz Stuelpnagel).  She is a member of EST where credits include Waking Up by Cori Thomas, (directed by Tea Alagic), The Sluts of Sutton Drive by Josh Conkel, (directed by Lila Neugebauer), and various Youngblood Brunches. Film/TV/New Media: Mary in Mary and Louise * directed by Abigail Zealey Bess,  Dot in Monsura is Waiting directed by Kevin Newbury,  Sara In Window Dressing (directed by Stephen Girouard), Helen Pellet in “Here’s What I Like and Now I’ll Tell You Why” Ep 1-5 * directed by Abigail Zealey Bess,  the Neighbor (recurring) in "Me + You" (directed by Kantarama Gahigiri) Amanda in “Thirtynothing” (pilot) directed by Thom Woodley andMelissa in “Compulsive Love” (recurring) directed by Kevan Tucker starring Alex Anfanger and Laura Ramedi.

As a writer she is a BVEW Screenplay Fellow for her feature script Mr. Rawls, and won best short script at LA Comedy Shorts Film Festival for her comedy Mary and Louise. Her plays include Hands (Naked Angels 1st Mondays selection) Move (New Voices Fellowship), The Changing of the Guard (prod. EST Marathon, pub. Best American Short Play Anthology), Throws of Love (prod. Samuel French OOB play festival, Core Artist Ensemble Twisted Shorts), and Cat.her.in.e (prod. MITF NYC best solo show nominee)

Her short memoir prose as been published with Verbal Supply Company’s Collection Volume 1 and has been read at Naked Angels Tuesdays@9, EST, Access Theater, and Verbal Supply Company at Halyard’s. Amy is an artist in residence at the  SPACE on Ryder Farm 2015 Residency Program for her new play Eddie and Dave: A Fictionalized Tale of Van Halen.
