One night in the life of Perlas, who, having fled from the Marcos regime, comes to New York answer an ad for a sublet listed in the Village Voice. She finds herself in an art gallery opening in the East Village - and discovers the perils of looking for a home in New York circa 1986 - mega-art collectors, vegetarians, a Taoist from Maine and a coked-up commodities broker.
AFTER THE STORM is the first of a trilogy of plays about the Philippines during the Marcos years and their aftermath. The second play, SPARROW, is playing May 29th - June 14th at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre in Coming Home, Living Image Arts' 4th Annual One-Act Festival. It will premiere along with two other one-act plays by Maria Gabriel and William K. Powers
