The Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) in New York City seeks an Executive Director (ED) to replace our current Executive Director of 10 years by November 2017.
The new ED must understand and support our mission and values and be committed to working collaboratively within a large ensemble/membership theatre and artistic community structure to achieve both annual and long-range artistic and company goals and objectives.
We are looking for experience in and commitment to producing and developing new plays (at least 3 mainstage productions and 5 workshop productions a year, plus additional short play festivals and full length play readings – over 200 projects total per year).
The selected individual will have demonstrated engagement in diverse communities, be willing and able to advocate for EST and its community, and be good at and enjoy raising funds and cultivating donors. In addition to overseeing financial and general management, marketing and development, the selected individual also will play a central role in completing the first major renovation of the company’s headquarters during the next 2-3 years.
We are looking for an energetic, innovative and resourceful executive leader who will partner closely with the Artistic Director and staff, the Board leadership, Board of Directors and committees, in fulfilling all of the company’s goals and objectives.
Salary is competitive for a theater of this size (annual budget 1.8M) and commensurate with experience, compensation includes generous health and vacation benefits.
