Christina Quintana is a New York-based writer with Cuban and Louisiana roots. Plays and musicals include: EVENSONG (Astoria Performing Arts Center); GUMBO, with music by Brett Macias (Musical Theatre Factory; FLMTF’s The PiTCH), SCISSORING (Finalist Kitchen Dog New Works Festival, Finalist Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition), ENTER YOUR SLEEP (Elm Theatre New Orleans, FringeNYC/Baby Crow Productions), and BLANK CANVAS (“Best Short” Downtown Urban Theatre Festival). She is the recipient of commissions from the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Project, Actor’s Express, and Peppercorn Theatre, and fellowships from CubaOne, Queer/Art, and Lambda Literary. She is a proud member of EST/Youngblood and a graduate of the MFA Playwriting program at Columbia University. Her chapbook of poetry, THE HEART WANTS, was released from Finishing Line Press last year and her writing has been featured in Front Porch, Nimrod International Journal, Saw Palm, Foglifter, and on the "Elements" episode of Radiolab in collaboration with Emotive Fruition. For more, visit cquintana.com
